dpenrod Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 was curious how the first day without felt soles in the park went. actively checked? anyone ticketed?
laker67 Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 I hear its a felony to even have them inside your vehicle once you enter the state park boundaries. Has anyone ever clarified that. It says no felt allowed at bssp.

It says no felt allowed at bssp. A FELONY? Huh? That can't be right.... That's putting the accidental felt wearer (or, if what you say is correct, the person who finds out AT the park that there's a new reg and then decides to keep his felt soles in his car to take back home) on par with drug dealers, car jackers and stuff! cricket.c21.com

With all the advanced notice and the news media telling us about the new regs, should'nt be any accidental felt wearer. Wonder how many left their "waders' at home on opening morning? Just plead not guilty to any questions asked.
eric1978 Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 There's no way it's a felony. Whoever told you that is either misinformed or being dramatic.
Stoneroller Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 If MDC didn't hand out tickets for very clear violations of this past year's deer/turkey tag violations, they aren't going to hand out any for felt waders. jdmidwest Posted March 3, 2012 Posted March 3, 2012 I saw them chop the feet of some poor bait slinger wearing a pair of wally world felts. Of course, he was limping off of the handicap bridge after he slipped on the slime and busted his wrists and a nice Zebco rod. It was like some Islamic nightmare. Feathers and Fins Posted March 3, 2012 Posted March 3, 2012 Living in Arkansas right on the Border I have not heard anything about it accept on this site. So people who may be comming from other places would certainly not have heard about it via media resources. Heck I am a Lifetime License holder and didnt even get a mailer about it. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
ozark trout fisher Posted March 3, 2012 Posted March 3, 2012 I understand that it would be tough to get to a trout park to find that your wading boots aren't legal to use, especially for people from out of state, but if you haven't fished a place in awhile, isn't it a good idea to check the regs before going down? I would never take a trip to a river in Colorado or the Montana without seeing what the regulations are first. That should just be part of the process of planning any fishing trip. That said, if true, I find it silly that you could get a ticket for just having felt soles in your truck.
