flyrodman Posted March 16, 2012 Author Posted March 16, 2012 and promptly beat it to death with a pitching wedge it appears Haha! No, it was dead, they found it floating in the water so they pulled it up onto shore. It does look pretty beat up though. Luke Walz
fishinwrench Posted March 16, 2012 Posted March 16, 2012 They always look like that, even the healthy living ones. Undoubtedly the ugliest, stinkinest, and most undesirable "thing" that swims in our waters.
MoSportsmen Posted March 16, 2012 Posted March 16, 2012 How'd the heck one of them get in a golf course pond? This is how these things get spread all over our country. Somebody stocked em thinking they were grass carp. Ever notice how many people that are not real savy about fish species refer to all carp as grass carp? Seems to have gotten worse over the last 20 years. 20 years ago carp was carp......now we have at least 4 species in the the USA and they are all imports. Messing about in boats
Greasy B Posted March 16, 2012 Posted March 16, 2012 I snagged one the other day fishing for hybrids and whites on the Mississippi.I successfully released it a less than healthy state, then I thought what's the sense. His father touches the Claw in spite of Kevin's warnings and breaks two legs just as a thunderstorm tears the house apart. Kevin runs away with the Claw. He becomes captain of the Greasy Bastard, a small ship carrying rubber goods between England and Burma. Michael Palin, Terry Jones, 1974

The ponds do have triploid grass carp, I have seen them before. This is the second bighead carp they have pulled out of this certain pond Luke Walz
