Jeremy nailed it right on the head.

Bill Anderson, one of the best scientest we have ever had on this lake, "Now Retired." Told me on numerious times that removing bed fish during tournaments had zero population effect.

The percentage of spawning fish that is removed or relocated is extrememly minimal. Also if that fish is not injured and is a female the spawning reflex is so strong, and as he said, "Water is water." She will just find a male on a nest and do it there, what ever part of the lake she is on.

As he told me many a time, "Table Rock Bass don't have a home, they live in the Lake." Just giving her a boat ride will not eliminate her ability to spawn that current season. Also for the most part the female if she has spawned has very little to do with the nest. That is the males job. Remove them both however, and you pretty much have a buffet for the blue gills.

There are only 20 boats on the water today and the Rock will swallow them like a rain drop. This spawn deal is just getting going, they are not touching it. Also as Jeremy said more spawning in deeper water than shallow.

Take a breath, They are not hurting anything, This lake can handle it.

Enjoy the weather and the fun

ive heard tell many times that if your launching around kimberling any tourney on the lake can be one any time of year just about within 2 1/2 miles of kimberling i have to think theres some truth to that seeing as how so many fish get released there year after year during these cpa, flw, paa, tourneys weigh in there just think about how many fish they bring in from all over the lake to spawn in that vicinity there are NO shortage of fish in our lake i can promise you that and like bill said them females are gonna spawn no matter where they are provided they stay alive

I'm not Robbie Dotson, Bill Beck or Buster Loving, but I have won lots of the Green Spendy Stuff on this Lake and most of that money has come from Five miles either side of the KC Bridge.S

That area has everything, Extremely deep water huge feeding flats, massive spawning creeks filled with timber and loads of goodies for fish types to eat.

State Park and the Dam area is just like it. These Gal's will be ok. I'll also bet a big part of the bags are the boys getting stuff ready for the suprise party before the gals get to the event.

This little ole derby the last week of March, is just a party mixer.

Well put Bill, Jeremy, and Riverfish...except there are no fish around Kimberling. Please run to Aunts, or better yet Campbell and above.

I spent a couple hours on beds Friday on a small lake with males stacked up on their beds waiting, females would run in one was a 10lb plus that could not find a male she liked. I threw everything at her but she was mate shopping and was not going to hit anything, when I found two fish they were laying(female was turning up doing a head stand anyway) and not paying attention to anything. IMO you could have stacked that lake from end to end with bed fishermen and not hurt the spawn by one fish.

It is such a short time that the males defend those eggs before they hatch and everyone is on a different schedule and compared to the bluegill that I saw waiting around the beds, no man has the patience of a 10 oz bluegill, or a 3inch crawfish.

I kept thinking I wish I had one of those guys with me that talks about bed fishing being unfair just to show me how it is so EASY.

I have a feeling with chances of rain and the Full Moon coming in a few days that the Rock is about to be on fire. I can't wait to fish this weekend. Good Luck everyone!
