moguy1973 Posted March 31, 2012 Posted March 31, 2012 Finally got my Lowrance Elite-4x DSI fish finder installed on my kayak today. Can't wait to try it out and see how that DownScan Imaging works! Still have to figure out what I'm going to do with the wires, but it'll work like it is for now. Used the Lowrance transducer scupper mount to mount the transducer and it fits perfectly in the scupper recess on my Ocean Kayak... -- JimIf people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles. -- Doug Larson
Smalliebigs Posted March 31, 2012 Posted March 31, 2012 very nice!!!! have you had them out on a river yet???? I love seeing the initial enthusiasm of people when they are rigging their yaks and the yaks are still very new.....very cool. Tridents are a good yak and that sonar will be killer. Looks like your ready for an adventure
moguy1973 Posted March 31, 2012 Author Posted March 31, 2012 I've only had it out on Simpson and another local lake so far. We are going to try the meramec on Monday again from Allenton to times beach if the weather holds off. -- JimIf people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles. -- Doug Larson
Jack Jones Posted March 31, 2012 Posted March 31, 2012 Looks really awesome. I've got a sit in, so no scupper holes for me. Thought about drilling, but figured when/if the time comes I'll grab one of the through the hull transducers. Good luck with it!!!!!!!!!!! ollie Posted April 2, 2012 Posted April 2, 2012 Looks good, but looks like overkill to me. I should say it would be overkill for ME though. I would have that tranducer ripped off in a heartbeat! lol "you can always beat the keeper, but you can never beat the post" There are only three things in life that are certain : death, taxes, and the wind blowing at Capps Creek!
Stoneroller Posted April 2, 2012 Posted April 2, 2012 you can get a watertite fitting that you can put on the vertical surface near the sonar, then just run your cables inside the hull and have the transducer cable come back out. I'll see If I can scrounge up a picture of how mine is set up. Fish On Kayak Adventures, LLC.
