Started out in Sons fishing the banks at sunrise. Only caught one small male. Moved out and had some luck fishing the edge of the creek channel within site of the 39 bridge. Caught most of them on stumps that were just below the surface of the water. Ended up with a couple dozen before calling it quits. All were on jigs. Water temps started around 61 in the morning, and were between 66 and 67 by the time we left in the afternoon. Most of the females still had eggs in them. My gut says they may finish spawning (females) Sunday/Monday in the southern part of the lake...with a decent cool down and unsettled weather on the way. We shall see...

The wife and I were there this afternoon from about 3 til dark. Ended with a dozen keeper crappie, one white and one 16 in eye. Fishing back of a couple pockets out toward lake. Chart swimmin minnows were the ticket for us.

My two grandson's and I hit the water about 7:00 sat. morning. Went up son's to spot I limited out last wed.. Only had 3 keepers. Headed on up son's close to bridge, threw road runners. Ended up with 18 crappie, 3 keeper eyes. Boys were getting restless, loaded up at 2:00. Little tougher day, but still great to be out with the boys.

Yeah talked to quite a few on the lake on Saturday. The same banks that quickly produced limits from mid to late week did nothing on Saturday. I wonder if they picked back up on Sunday or today?

Good to hear a few of you picking up some bonus walleye. Wasn't lucky enough to hook into any of those. Still a great day though.

I only crappie fished for about two hours on sunday, ended up with 23 between two of us. Several 13 inchers, every one was a female with eggs. This was a couple miles up the river from ruark bluff. The spawn is not over, its just getting started IMO

Fished up there today with a group of two boats and five guys. We started a daylight and fished till about 4 p.m. Slow bite to start and spotty. Around noon the bite picked up and at 1 p.m. it was on fire. The group ended up taking home 75 crappie, 4 walley, and a few whites.
