Quillback Posted April 4, 2012 Author Posted April 4, 2012 Great maps F&F, I 'll have to bookmark this in case I ever make it down there to fish. Is there a best time of year for the trout?
Feathers and Fins Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 The biggest trout are present from August to early October when the Mullet run is on.. They are there year round but best when they are eating the snicker bars as we called them. Quill if you go its a cheap trip, I drove down a couple years ago and gas there and back was about 450.00 took all my own gear and stayed with a friend. But Hotels arnt bad and the license is cheap as well. I would say a guy could do a 4 day drive down and back with 2 days fishing for under 1200.00. There are plenty of places to pull off A1A and wade the indian river, Indian River drive there are a couple spots but not many. And the Jetty at Fort Pierce is a must. If i were to go I would go in July, And get 12 dozen jumbo shrimp and hit the fort pierce jetty. Snook are in full mating migration in the inlets and you can seriously stack them up. ( C&R Season ) Tarpon are more August bite. My favorite for sure bite on them was behind Mangrove Matties restruant just off the jetty. Bar tender kept you well fed and hydrated the tarpon fishermen kept people at the restraunt hydrating themselves https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
