Just for fun as we know MDC and AGFC wprobably would never do it but. I would love to see Beaver and Tablerock get some Lake trout and Kokanne salmon and Musky.

I think with proper trophy management the lakes would become a major destination for people seeking them out.

Never have quite understood the attraction of lake trout and kokanees. The lake trout don't fight very hard for their size, are usually boring to fish for because you have to fish so deep, and the kokanees don't get very big at best. I don't know whether either could survive and do well. As for muskies, I think it's cool that Pomme de Terre has a good fishery, but it's still a put, grow, and take fishery. Not sure I'd want muskies in a bunch of other lakes.

In fact, I can't think of anything exotic that I'd like to see stocked. I find fishing for native fish to be a lot more interesting, although the trout are okay. And you never know when there are going to be unforeseen consequences to stocking exotics.

But if peacock bass could only survive in Missouri, I might change my tune a bit.

If they could be grown and survive this far south Northern Pike would be my choice they don't grow as big as Muskie but they do get big and are maybe the dumbest fish I have ever fished for. Think about it people up north have been catching these fish forever on a red and white or yellow five of diamonds Daredevil Soon or a Suick jerkbait or a big Mepps spinner and right after ice out you can sight fish in shallow water and have a chance of catching a 20#+ fish.

FWC stocked peacocks in florida to control the other introduced/invasive species of fish in the canals.I was under the impression they were just another introduced species from the pet store, but they are actually the answer to said species. You can't keep peacock bass in florida. the peacocks suvive but it's too cold for them to successfully breed. (so they say) either 14 or 17 species of exotics have been cleared out of florida so far by either FWC, cold snaps or other introduced fish.

as far as the original question, Goonch.

Brown trout in the Eleven Point.....great habitat for them.

Won't ever happen, but I'm with you Gavin. I'm sure the hellbender listing has put an end to any hope (however slight) that we had.

Peacocks would be interesting in Swepco, but it's a good bass lake and I would not want to take a chance and have the Peacocks ruin it. And that lake is heavily pressured as it is, no need to bring in even more pressure. I can't think of any other species I would want to see introduced around here, maybe muskies in Beaver, but I would want them to stock the sterile hybrid Tiger muskies so if things go wrong they can't reproduce. But would Beaver be good musky habitat?

I'm not holding my breath for browns on the 11pt...or trout on the fishless stretch of the Current (Akers to Pulltite). I think that both stretches could be great trout fisheries but the Feds arent going to let it happen.
