Have been on and off the Table Rock Lake Gar Pond the last week and for the life of me I have put nothing together. Have been trying to drag that little worm but am having minimal results.

Topwater on the banks has been my best deal, not schoolers, but mostly buck LM on the banks. There is a tube bite in the dam area in the 14 to 24 ft. range on the extended points, for jaws, but not everywhere.

Have also had some results swimming a grub on flat gravel. 20 fish and 5 keepers one day this week.

Have caught some decent LM on a fluke, but nothing big. Had a couple today on a blade, and 3 keeps on a square bill.

Some guys are catching them better on a wart. Chris Tetrick had a monster day.

Spoke to a guy today at Sweetwater that said he had a very nice limit on the A-Rig. Thought he might have had 20 pounds, all LM. Up close.

What a meandering post, mostly I don't know what I'm doing.

Water has dropped and is still dropping and the surface temps have dropped about 8 degree. Cool nights and cloudless days have just about turned my gut.

Man the trout are biting and they are big. I'm staying down there for a day or two.

Good Luck

We welcome meandering posts anytime. Or really any info this week. Was starting to think the lake was off limits for some reason. And you may have saved me some time dragging the green worm on Monday.

Not hearing about anyone just going down the bank with a smoke or green grub. In fact your mention of the grub at all is the first for a while.

I have been catching all my fish dead shallow on the bank. My suggestion is to go find the dirtiest water you can find with a chunk rock and gravel bank. Cranks tubes and jigs have worked for me. It may be only a 50 yard stretch or so but that's the patter I have honed in.

Duck we tried to catch crappie yesterday in the Kings River. Pretty much stunk it up. Tried deeper pole timber in the guts and along the bluff banks. Used eitther a float and minnow approx. 12 ft. or a jig and float. No results. Spoke to at least 4 others that were having my same results. Also tried a jig and float and a straight line swimming minnow in the spawning pockets up close. Fished pockets with debris and also open small pockets also using some live minnows. Caught our only Crappie like this a male all colored up and a good one too. He had no gal friends.

Lots of perch and small bass on the timber. After the trip I did catch 6 keeper LM on 3 different methods, but it hardly made me feel better.

It's just that time of year, Bill. Gotta lay 4-5 rods out, put your foot on the TM and just go junk fishin. Throw what the moment calls for. Blade, little jig, Fin, shaky head ... you know the deal. Everyone is up shallow gettin freaky. Not a good guiding scenario, I know. They'll be done soon and start schooling up back out there where you like em.

FINALLY got the trailer part in yesterday morning the shop got me fixed up so I headed to the water to fish from 2 to 8 around Indian Point. I hadn't been on the lake in 3 weeks so like Champ said I just went junk fishing and actually had a great day. I started shallow with blade and swimbait in pockets and caught several shorts but I kept marking fish sitting in the 8-12 range on the bottom so I tied on a football jig (didn't have my warts with me or I probably would have tied that on) and just started hammering them in the pockets with that. Had one close to 6lbs and a couple in the 4lb range plus several other keepers. Probably half and half on the prespawn/spawn fish...some had bloody tails while others were as pretty as they could be with fat guts. I did that until around 5 then I tied on a top water and just started fishing chunk rock banks in pockets with that and caught several more doing that. Can honestly say I have never seen the water that color around Indian and the key seemed to find the pockets that were a little clearer. Keys were gravel mix with pole timber and the bigger ones were holding at the base of the trees. Just a great day and happy to fish again.

Been getting quite a few the last couple of days. All right on the bank. None deeper than 4 feet of water. Most on jigs. Cleaned and ate about a dozen the other day and they were pretty tasty.

TFsh, one of the guests at our Lodge did very similar to ya in the same location. He is fishing the BASS open in a couple of weeks and him and his wife were here doing a little practicing. Fishing Too.

He fished from Indian to Cow.

He said a Football Jig 3/8th. in the short pockets. Said he had one location he just caught a ton of K's all really nice keeps. Thought he had 16 or 17 pounds.

Winston what part of the lake did you catch thoae crappie if you don't mind us asking.

Good Luck
