Wayne SW/MO Posted September 28, 2006 Posted September 28, 2006 It crosses, what there is of it, south of Verona. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
ollie Posted September 28, 2006 Posted September 28, 2006 Ok Fishbork, I know where your talking about now. At first I thought maybe you were talking around Carthage, Joplin area. I lot of creeks and rivers around here were experimental trout stocking programs for MDC way back when. Either that or someone's "pet fish" escape the impoundment! "you can always beat the keeper, but you can never beat the post" There are only three things in life that are certain : death, taxes, and the wind blowing at Capps Creek!
MoCarp Posted September 28, 2006 Posted September 28, 2006 a small breeding population of bows are in the upper reaches of spring and its feeder creeks--those of us in the know usally keep mum about it ; ) bigges I have ever caught was 7 pounds and was released a very long McCloud Looking strain--I think some where introduced in the late 1880's MONKEYS? what monkeys?
Fish Bork Posted September 28, 2006 Author Posted September 28, 2006 The big male we caught was probably a McCloud if you look at the top of him he almost looked like a Brown, big hooked jaw and very dark spots on top. The big female looked like a big stocker not very many spots. I saw the pics today and hopefully the guy e-mails me them soon so I can post them. Time flies like an arrow. Fruit flies like a banana.
Wayne SW/MO Posted September 28, 2006 Posted September 28, 2006 I hope they survive. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
MoCarp Posted September 28, 2006 Posted September 28, 2006 I hope they survive. They will, have for a long time ONE spring creek flows only on a banker's land I know not many folks get fishing this area--mostly private.. heard rumors of the MDC getting a stretch, hope its true--other than that, only way is to float-not easy CAUSE OF BRUSH MONKEYS? what monkeys?
Members Arkamo Traveler Posted October 2, 2006 Members Posted October 2, 2006 Fish Bork-- So I checked out this hot topic on the forum and noticed nearly 300 hits. You should pass out Crisco and corn meal with your secret spots. Are you a fisherman or a reporter. You should call Steve Brigman, maybe he can do an expose.
Rusty Posted October 2, 2006 Posted October 2, 2006 He could be posting just to be informing, unlike some, who lurk just to gain information. I thought that was what this type of forum was for. Just my opinion though.
Wayne SW/MO Posted October 3, 2006 Posted October 3, 2006 Russ, we've been over this before, but the fact remains that on an open forum statements are made to large crowds, even if only one ask the question. I have no doubt that Bork wants to share his information with the forum members, and those who aren't, but there is still a question of how best to do it. I'm of the opinion that everything but "Under the highway 60 bridge" was fine, the Spring is a long river, as you well know. At that point he could share by PM with those he felt he could trust to know the exact location. This is something learned in time and Terry Beeson is a good example. If you've been around the forums in this area then you know Terry is strictly a C&R fisherman, so one shouldn't be concerne about sharing with him, the same can't be said for the multiple people who have viewed the thread Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
Rusty Posted October 3, 2006 Posted October 3, 2006 Wayne, I do understand that point. I am talking about people that have few post on this forum. They think they can belittle someone for sharing information. I think it is funny, to the point, that there needs to be a Secret section to this forum. And only the selected few can share information. You know, kind of like a clickish club.
