RSBreth Posted May 11, 2012 Posted May 11, 2012 I went to Fellows one day early this year on the weekend. I saw exactly one other person on the water, fishing from about 8:00 A.M. to about 3:00 P.M. It will be more busy when it's warm, but geez - it's open to the public.
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted May 11, 2012 Root Admin Posted May 11, 2012 Some of you guys just have a difference of opinion. Nothing wrong with that. If you all really want to pursue this issue, find out what the facts are: How many people/boats do use the facility annually. Not sure if that data is out there though.
exiledguide Posted May 13, 2012 Posted May 13, 2012 Sounds like somebody can't catch fish and needs to blame someone else. I agree with Bimmer if you don't like the way city utilities runs their lake, then you should just take it up with them i really don't care. I find Fellows to be well run with quality fish available. I was over there Thursday with 6 other trailers in the parking lot and two guys had small bots they put in their pick up when they left did not have a very good day fishing but I ended up with a couple of those 20" fish that aren't there anymore I left them in the East end of the south arm in extremely shallow water.

I just bought my tag a few weeks ago #450 so i guess thats how many boats could be out there.....
Members evnrude18 Posted May 13, 2012 Members Posted May 13, 2012 I am a strong believer that everyone is entitled to their own thought and opinions. But... I still bring in quality limit size fish (bass, walleye, crappie, white bass). It's the reason I keep coming back.
nitro96 Posted May 13, 2012 Posted May 13, 2012 Iam with you on that last statement Bimmer.. Evnrude18 you post a lot of good pic. That shows me there are still lots of good fish in the lake. Darrin
Members ScottBRay Posted May 25, 2012 Members Posted May 25, 2012 You arrogant idiots leave the crappie fisherman alone they have just as much right to be there as you !!!!!!!!
Members pruett417 Posted November 24, 2012 Members Posted November 24, 2012 Pulled them out of the woodwork with this one, maybe everyone will get fed up with the hoards of irresponsible, arrogant, spot hogging, water skiing, sailing........etc., leaves more room for me An expert is a person who has made every possible mistake in a small field of study.
jbtiwns30 Posted November 25, 2012 Posted November 25, 2012 I think someone needs to go and learn how to fish all over again. Do you want me to teach you how to fish Bill?? Heck I'm from MN and they have great fishing too. This lake some what reminds me of being way up north in MN. The fishing is great and guess what Ill sit in one spot for hours if I want to but thats not how I fish. Maybe you should try to to river fishing where you can catch fish on every cast. Ive seen some huge muskies caught on this lake and I caught some big walleye, crappie and bass as well and its close to home. I think Im done with this, its getting pointless to say something about someone who is bitter about this lake. Hey Bill, I bet there are some stocking tanks around that you can fish and have your limit right away, just don't get caught by the dnr for tresspassing.
Bassmaster21 Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 Well since it got brought back to life on the forum I read through all of the comments and Bill Y, I have been all over Minnessota the last few summers and the bass are smaller, crappie are the same size, lakes are equally as crowded and you may hate the crappie fisherman that sit in one spot for hours but try fishing a lake half the size of fellows that has eight or nine different boats with three people all trolling for whatever they can catch. You cant find anywhere to fish. Those people take up the whole lake, not just a spot. Oh, and have fun with the weather, cant even fish from october through april because of ice. P.S. - A true "serious sport fisherman" as you called it would find ways regardless of all the traffic, people, polution, crappie fisherman, etc, to still catch quality sized fish that would be acceptable to keep if you wished.
