I kayaked from Delware to Shelvin today, fishing report to follow. But first I found an abondoned boat on the river. I don't know if anyone else on this forum has seen it. It was stripped with about a foot of water in it. Maybe it just floated away from someone's dock/ramp. I thought I should call someone, so I called the MDC but they did not care . They did give me the phone number of the highway patrol/ water patrol. So I called them. Why would someone just abandon a boat? I dont have a boat but wouldnt the number on the side tell who's it is? I wonder if they will haul it out?

I saw one of them at Clearwater a couple of years ago. Sat there for a week or so against a bluff. Straight across from a marina. It was good cover for the wintering smallies and then the Water Patrol came and pulled it out.

Yeah I saw that boat twice this year. Earlier this spring it was trapped under a tree and the other day it was just sitting out in the open. I was wondering what was up with it myself.

Last registered in OK it looks like.

The windshield is worth about 160.00 to someone looking for one. Old fiberglass boat hulls are hard to get rid of, cant burn them and can't bury them. They are actually classified as hazardous waste. Folks around here that can't afford to have them hauled off fi d creative ways to use them (dog, chicken, or goat houses, flower beds, ect.) It's the most redneck thing you ever saw.

That would be tough trying to herd something like that down James River. I bet they gave up and either walked out or hopped a ride with their pals that were in canoes.

Just another lovely piece of scenery on the James, lol. I imagine someone didn't want it anymore and figured they would just set it off down the river. It'll sink eventually and be an eyesore forever I imagine.
