Been asking mdc on their facebook page some questions on this ..........................Yes we paid 33k and elk x 40 50 ..100k per 3 well over 1.5 million for the first batch ........All are radio collarded even the little ones"hatched" here ................This is an rocky mountain elk ...not what was native here ..the eastern subspecies was here before they were extirpated . ..This to me makes no sense to do "conservation"

means "wise use" .....They'res better things to use that money for that elk ......even if one car is destroyed or someone killed ,its not missouri's or mdc's elk anymore ..you can bank on that ...............

Word is they tried to dart it ...but could get close enough ,according to them so they killed it ......noone got the meat ,so they say .It went to testing for cwd ....AND THE BEST IS WORD HAS IT IT "WAS IN ARKANSAS " when they punched the lungs out on it ........Apparently it didnt like it here ..............Can you imagine elk living in that heavily tree infested area and surviving

My bad. I misread the release.

Don't think it is any reason to yell though.

Now the mountain lion have something challenging to hunt and eat. The forest and ecosystems are all about balance and the population pyramid.

I think that cost is higher than it should be. One of my best friends growing up had over 300 elk on his family farm in St. Paul MO. I doubt they paid over a thousand or two for an elk. They used the antlers to make some kind of supplement that the chinamen would take to make their peckers hard like an elk antler.
