I stopped by Menard's on the way home awhile ago during the grand opening. A fine young youth approached to sell me Direct TV. I said great, I would like my bill to return to the $29 a month you are advertising, I have been with you for a long time and it is around $70 for the same basic package. Needless to say, he lost interest fast.

I heard that menard is going to anchor the 'newly redesigned' northwest plaza in bridgeton. Probably only need an AK and 500 rds to get to and from your car though...

I am not really too impressed with this one. Pretty strong on lumber and lawn stuff. Lowes, Sears, Buchheits, and ACE have better tools. Prices were not all that great either.

Just tell'um you're there to spend the bucks you've earned on their credit card. Then smile at them with a fake pair of those messed up teeth. Big Cedar cringes when it comes to pillow drool.

They are very aggressive at the Denver BPS. I just tell them I already own a house on Table Rock, but thanks anyway... as for the Mormons that come to my door... I answer the door with a Mizzou t-shirt on and my 45 holstered. They don't hang around too long.

I have REALLY been wanting to do this: the next time I am approached I am going to pull some trinket or some misc item out of my pocket and put on a thick, major sales pitch to them and not give up, follow them around, work them until they are just exhausted or even try to have me thrown out of the store....then return and try it again (when I have some spare time). I thought acting like I was selling life insurance would be a good way to do it (there is nothing wrong with that, it would just be a good portrayal)

This is what I do to telemarketers and they are sometimes speachless.....

Wow, I've only been accosted once, in the St. Charles store.

Gotta admire the ambition of the Jehovah's Witnesses people. They drive down my 1/3 mile lane...can't see the house from the highway. And in Montana when we had the cabin, it was six miles up a gravel road, then they parked down at the bottom of the hill and climbed the hill on foot to knock on the door of a cabin that didn't really look all that much like a residence. Of course, I'm still mean to them and tell them I sold my soul to the Devil long ago so they don't stand a chance...

How much did you charge him?

I had one in the Springfield store actually ask me why I wasn't "man enough" to take my family on vacation. I can't remember verbally lighting someone up so bad in my life as I did that day.

Wow! I'd have had the manager called and chewed his butt, too! Do they really think they're going to make a sale using shock tactics like that? Driving customers away is all that will do.

I shop at the Springfield store, too. I've never had one of those idiots go over the line as I walk, but they are like vultures in their little area between the fishing/boating area and the rest of the store.
