Today started for me like yesterday, first fish I caught weighed in at 4.75, right at first light. We started up War Eagle, but it was much tougher than yesterday, we boated one other bass before gving up on WE and heading up the White river arm.

We found a honey hole on the White, I'm keeping the location secret, but in an area off a point measuring probably no more than 1,000 square feet, we caught around 25 LM. No big ones, Jeb got a couple of 2 lbers in the boat, but most were 13-15" fish and all LM's except one small spot. We'd catch some, it would slow down, we'd go to another spot for a while - catch nothing - come back to the honey hole and catch some more until it slowed down again.

I was using a 3/8 oz GP/orange football jig with a GP Zoom creepy crawler trailer, Jeb was using a mix of stuff, but most of his came on a jig, but he got a couple on a drop shot, and some c-rigged plastics.

But as yesterday, the big bass was the first bass caught.

Sounds like you guys got into a fun spot. I have found out when they shut off like that but then when you come back to them they are biting again if I turn off my Sonar they keep biting.

How bad was the Tuber Hatch up there? I was debating hitting a few spots either on Beaver tomorrow or below the Dam for Walleye and was curious what time the tube hatch is starting so I can be off the main areas where they seem to hatch.

I don't recall seeing any tubers etc., up the White today, we did see some in War Eagle yesterday. But things always get crazy on the weekend so who knows what it will be like tomorrow. Good luck on the wallies if you go. Jeb picked up a couple of keeper wallies on a drop shot Wednesday.

We had a great day. Quillback was tearing it up on that small jig. He hooked twice as many fish as I did. Fun for sure.

It's been an interesting 3 days on Beaver. I went by myself on Wednesday. Well, except for my 2 "girls" (German Shepherds). Went mid-lake PC to Coppermine and did well. 22 black bass and 2 legal Walleyes from 5am to 10:30. Good depth finder readings, figured the bite was on! So Quillback and I tried to duplicate that on Thursday, but it just was not there. Not seeing the fish on the depth finder, and they were just not biting. Same basic weather, too. You can read Quillbacks other thread to see that we ran down the War Eagle and did pretty well,

So, as Quillback says, we went back to WE today. Forget it. Just not happening. Blow on down the White and find some nice fish.

Just goes to show what any long time Beaver fisherman has to learn. Just because a pattern works today, it is not likely it will work again tomorrow. Even if the days seem identical. At least for black bass.

BTW, Quillback is hard core! He just bought a brand new bass boat. He had it all ready to fly today, but knew he'd have to burn the day breaking the motor in. So rather than do that, he said he'd rather just be fishing so tagged along with me. Awesome drive to rip lips! If it were me? Forget about it. I'd be out on my new boat burning it up. So he deserved the great day he had.
