Duck Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 Had a fair early bite from 5:30 till 7:30 with 7 on the spinnerbait and 3 on the Red fin. Had 7 more but lost them before we could boat them. Ran to a bluff end and caught 1, 3 pounder on a swim bait and 7 more on dropshot. Tried the DT 16 and a fat free shad with no luck. Odd thing was where we usually can always locate fish on the finder on the deeper flats they were not there. Need to work on finding a pattern for mid morning. Total of 5 fish over 15 inches. Very few boats, yahoo. Good fishin, Duck.
Bill Babler Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 Sounds like a duplicate of my day with the exception of the dropshot and the blade. Stayed with the Swimmer and the jig. Thought they dropped the jig alot. I think they were abit testy today. http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
Gone Fishing Posted June 14, 2012 Posted June 14, 2012 I thought I would piggyback on the thread also. I fished around Baxter with my favorite fishing buddy this morning till 9:30a.m. with similiar results as you guys. Fished with jigs and topwater. There were several fish chasing. Did manage one big one with the jig.
abkeenan Posted June 14, 2012 Posted June 14, 2012 Wow awesome pic and fish Gone Fishing. I am sure the young man won't forget that fish the rest of his life. What a TOAD! Congrats. Get a length and weight on that pig by chance?
Bill Babler Posted June 14, 2012 Posted June 14, 2012 That is just an incredable fish. Any idea on size? That ole gal has layed us a lot of eggs, and done her best for the Rock. Congrats. http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
Quillback Posted June 14, 2012 Posted June 14, 2012 Wow, nice fish! Jeb and I were in the Viney area also yesterday, we must have seen you Duck, just didn't know it. We ended up with a little over 30 fish, but only a couple of keepers. Had a good but brief topwater bite, then we went with jigs and c-rig plastics. They were biting that stuff early really well, then it slowed down considerably. Had a lot of light biters that were tough to hook later in the AM, missed a lot of fish.
Duck Posted June 14, 2012 Author Posted June 14, 2012 Quillback, we were in the yellow bullet boat. Were you on a flat by the Emerald ramp at 5;20. Stay sake. Duck
