We're thinking about getting a boat and are looking at both the Lowe Stinger 175 and the Tracker Pro Team 175 TF. The boats look pretty similar, but I was wondering if anybody had any experience with either. What about customer service from both companies? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I hear alot better things about Lowe.

I have the older version of the 170W - when they still trusted you with the option of a 115 HP on a lighter boat. I have the 90 hp 'Rude on it and couldn't be happier. The only thing I didn't like was they went cheap on the seats, but the older Trackers were worse. For fit and finish I'd say Lowe, but there plenty of used Trackers out there so I'd look around some before buying, and I'd never buy new unless I just wanted to throw my money away or was sponsored or something.

I'm partial to Lowe, but in any case buy the boat from a dealer close to the plant. Shipping a boat is expensive.

Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.

Thanks for the input everyone! Keep it coming. Both boats have the same hull thickness and motor but I've read some bad things about trackers customer service online. So if anybody has any experience with that please let me know. I still have to see what kind of warrantees each comes with.

I had a Lowe 175 stinger. I loved the setup. Two live wells, minnow buckets. I changed the trolling motor to a 24v, 71 lb. I trolled a lot for walleyes. This would run me all day with plenty of power. I liked the fact that it is wider than a Tracker too. Made it a lot more stable. The only thing I didn't like was the ride in rough water. Can't have everthing though. The next boat will have a Minnkota troller on it. The motorguide is noisy.

I had a 2000 Lowe 180 Striker/ 115 Johnson and it took alot of lake ozark beatings and kept coming back for more.

A F2 tornado ate it or I'd still be fishing out of it. I prefer riveted aluminum hulls over welded aluminum and I absolutely loved that boat, it was fast, safe, and could do it all.

I'd strongly suggest the 18 footer over the 17.

My first aluminum boat was a SmokerCraft and my second was a Lund. They were both riveted and both of em leaked. I researched Lowe, Tracker, Crestliner and a few others and settled on a Tracker Targa. I couldnt be happier. The gas mileage is out of this world, cruised for 2 days on Bull Shoals and only used 3 gallons of gas. All 3 of them have Mercuries. The Targa has a 115 hp 4 stroke and is so quiet you can talk to anyone in the boat at full throttle. Cant wait to get back down there in October and actually fish out of it.
