Justin Spencer Posted July 2, 2012 Posted July 2, 2012 From what I understand all National Forests in Mo. have a burn ban on, which would include fires along the 11 point, current, jacks, upper part of the NFoW, etc. "The problem with a politician’s quote on Facebook is you don’t know whether or not they really said it." –Abraham Lincoln Tales of an Ozark Campground Proprietor Dead Drift Fly Shop
Wayne SW/MO Posted July 2, 2012 Posted July 2, 2012 Fortunately. This area is so dry it would be insane to light a fire. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
Brian Sloss Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 There is a burn ban, bring a gas cook stove. www.elevenpointflyfishing.com www.elevenpointcottages.com (417)270-2497
Jerry Rapp Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 anyone who would start a fire of any kind in the ozarks now needs to think twice. Or three times.
Stoneroller Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 105º just leave your food in the sun, it will cook on it's own, there is no need for a fire anyway. it attracts bugs, bears, and the boogey man and gives away your position to the enemy. gotmuddy Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 yesterday on the lake the grill in the boat was 150 degrees with no fire. You can cook with that. everything in this post is purely opinion and is said to annoy you.
jdmidwest Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 I don't know if anyone has taken notice but I have seen many small burns along roadsides sparked by a cigarette butt. It sucks, a camp without a fire. But, who wants to burn down a forest? It is hot and dry everywhere. Humidity is low and all conditions are right. We don't need Obama coming to visit us like he did in Colorado. "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S. Thompson
Stoneroller Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 ham only has to be 140ºF... There is a wildfire out of control in Missouri right now. They think it was caused by a cigarette butt. We just had the fire dept here saturday night because the idiot neighbors tossed a smoldering/spent firework into the dumpster. toasted the dumpster and the door to the area it sits in. I'll get a picture tomorrow. Fish On Kayak Adventures, LLC. Supreme Commander 'The Dude' of Kayak fishing www.fishonkayakadventures.com fishonkayakadventures@yahoo.com
Guest csfishinfool Posted August 8, 2012 Posted August 8, 2012 I'm assuming the Burn Ban is still in effect. Brian, when its lifted please post it on the forum. Hopefully by labor day, I love a good camp fire cooked trout.
