Members KC Bass Fanatic Posted July 16, 2012 Members Posted July 16, 2012 Anybody tried these? I'm a fan of the Rebel craw and the Wart, both have been very good to me over the years. I've been eyeing the Koppers craw for a while but at $12 a pop, I haven't pulled the trigger yet. The finish is similar, if not better, than the Rebel craws so they pass the 'eye test' in the package....
MOsmallies Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 I'm sure they'll work just fine, but are they $8 better than a wiggle wart? I'm a lure junky to an extent and have been known to pay higher prices for lures similar to ones I already have so I can't really say anything. I struggle paying that much for a lure that's going to be banging bottom and rooting around snags though. Most of my higher priced baits are topwaters or suspending baits. Wiggle Warts, Bandits, and Normans will probably do just as good at a 1/3 of the price. Let us know what you think if you decide to pick one up! Paul MOsmallies
Ham Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 I'm not a huge believer in photo finish cranks. I'm a sucker for high stuff and own ZERO Koppers stuff, but they be great. Good Luck if you decide to get one. Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish

Members KC Bass Fanatic Posted July 17, 2012 Author Members Posted July 17, 2012 Thanks guys. I'm kind of a lure junkie myself so I think I'll pick up just one of these and sling it around. I'll let you know how it goes. I agree with you guys though, Warts and Normans are highly effective for 1/3 the price.

You can fiddle with the $6-7 lures with a little sweat equity and get them to act like the expensive ones anyway. Anymore I fiddle and find what catches fish and develop my one little secret pattern that works. To me, that is the fun part of fishing. You get 2 or 3 little secret patterns that work for every season and before you know it you can catch fish all year long and dont spend tons of money. I will still spend 20% of my fishing budget on new lures but 80% is just replacing the "tried and true" lures. "Honor is a man's gift to himself" Rob Roy McGregor

I usually try half a dozen "new" stuff (or new to me) a year just to try and get another weapon in my arsenal.
97procraft Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 Guys, I am a crankbait junky. I own a website that sells unpainted crankbaits and I have tested the live target crankbaits. They are nice. I don't think they are worth the money that the stores are selling the for though. They have a thinner lip than the wiggle wart and don't dive as deep or dig in to the bottom like a wiggle wart does. If you are wanting to try someting like the live target baits, check out he xcaliber brand first at half the price.
Mitch f Posted July 22, 2012 Posted July 22, 2012 I've got access to Live Target copies for $6 if you need some. I've got some myself and they are very nice. "Honor is a man's gift to himself" Rob Roy McGregor
