Hybrid Bass have broken lines along the top by the dorsal fin. Spine on the gill cover and distinctive teeth on the back of the tongue.

White Bass have the unbroken lines and single heart shape teeth on the tongue.

Striped Bass, dorsal fins are separated. Tongue patch like the hybrid.

Looks like a nice white bass to me.

I'm more confused now than ever after reading some of that....

I noticed the fish had a pointy lower jaw....Lower Missouri River. I'm no expert but seems like a straight up stripper with the solid lines and football shape...not very round though...

Sweet fish on the olde long rod Esox!!!! awsome....can't wait to start hitting the big rivers for the Hybrids, Whites and Stripers....we have caught a few in the last couple of falls out of Columbia Bottoms,

Its a confusing fish. Maybe Pflieger has a better way of telling them apart.

that fish is all hybrid if you ask me. they don't always have broken lines.

Pflieger makes no distinction between a striper and a white bass other than the single row of teeth on the white tongue vs double row of teeth on the striper. Whites have more of a hump where the head transitions into the body in front of the dorsal fin. This one in the pic shows a hump like a white bass.

There was no definition regarding the hybrid bass in the book, and it was a recent revision.

The hybrids I've seen have always have a distinct break in the horizontal bars. without that break it's either a monster white bass or a baby striper. stripers tend to be more torpedo shaped. I would go with a white bass.
