Justin Spencer Posted July 29, 2012 Posted July 29, 2012 The all time clincher was the Trout Unlimited calendar pics several years ago. How could THEY not get it right? One month had a guy fishing with a rod rigged with the line missing two guides. That's just reality, I usually notice I have missed some guides after I tie everything on, so I just fish until I lose my flies. Members Troutdude Posted July 29, 2012 Author Members Posted July 29, 2012 All good stuff, LOL! I remember a scenario related to me by one of my fishing/floating buds. As the story goes, he was fishing at Bennet when 3 Asian gentlemen rolled up with their surf casting rigs and proceeded to cast directly into the trees. Now that is entertainment!
UnCivE Posted July 30, 2012 Posted July 30, 2012 All good stuff, LOL! I remember a scenario related to me by one of my fishing/floating buds. As the story goes, he was fishing at Bennet when 3 Asian gentlemen rolled up with their surf casting rigs and proceeded to cast directly into the trees. Now that is entertainment! I was fishing a local hole, and a young guy (foreign exchange student, country withheld) sat there and fished for several hours with a crankbait hanging under a bobber. I tried to go strike up a friendly conversation, but he didn't speak enough english to let him know without making him feel like an idiot. I just told him good luck and continued on. . .
Daryk Campbell Sr Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 Sorry to hijack, but it is kind of relevant.. I have been searching for a commercial that was played in the early 90's. 2 old men were fishing in a boat trying to catch "Bubba". At the end, "Bubba" was pulling them across the lake. I believe it was a beer commercial. Can anyone tell me what product it was. I am trying to find the commercial to show my boys. I always tell them "we are trying to find Bubba". Wayne SW/MO Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 I seem to remember that, but what beer? I'm thinking Hamms or PBR, but not sure. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
Daryk Campbell Sr Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 I believe PBR, but I am not sure by any means,it may not have been beer, but I really think it was. I have searched youtube, but cannnot find anything. Money is just ink and paper, worthless until it switches hands, and worthless again until the next transaction. Greasy B Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 Good advertising should be a two way street. The advertiser entertains us a bit and we pay attention a bit. Now days most advertising is just an in your face irritant, especially Internet advertising. Their foolish mistakes may be the only thing that entertains any more. Enjoy a chuckle at their expense, they deserve it. His father touches the Claw in spite of Kevin's warnings and breaks two legs just as a thunderstorm tears the house apart. strangercreek Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 http://unaccomplishedangler.com/2012/06/somethins-fishy-in-adpharmville/ When I saw the commercial I thought maybe they were centerpin reels, but now I realize there are fly lines on those rigs.
