I am a huge fan of the Olympics as a rule, I know time delay and such is hard on not knowing the events outcome so I do my best to not listen to the news or look at papers durring the event so I can watch them at home and enjoy them. But this year I have had more events ruined by announcers that tell you who won before the event is shown. Really people some of us want to see it not be told on the prelude intro into it. Then you take the NBC editing out so many other nations competing and show only the US or the top 2 has got me to the point I do not want to watch now.

Take for instance the coverage of the Womens team Gymnastics, all they showed was the US and Russia and at that edited out the Russians biggest mistake of the night just to ad drama to the end. They really have ruined the event this year for me. Guess I will need to wait till the next time its in this hemisphere for a good experiance that or until someone other than NBC gets it and GETS IT!

I agree...NBC has really screwed the pooch on their coverage. Our AT&T U-verse has included 3 additional Olympic stations during these 2 weeks but one is a 3D channel, one is a basketball channel, and one is soccer. I could care less to watch women's basketball between Turkey and Australia...Show me some of the lesser watched events like archery, shooting, fencing, judo, etc...things you don't usually get to watch on TV...

I couldn't agree more. Show me the unique events. I'm tired of all the "big" sports taking all of the coverage.

The gymnastic announcers, especially the men's , don't seem to understand that all we see is what the camera shows. I had a hard time following last night because it seemed they were talking about scores of it that I couldn't see.

Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.

I just heard something interesting today, maybe you guys know this, but a gold medal winner gets $25,000, silver $10,000, and bronze $5,000. US swim team members get $75,000 for a gold in addition to the $25K. That guy Phelps made some pretty good money. Not that I have a problem with it, but it's kind of an eye opener.

I keep messing up and seeing results online before prime time coverage starts, very frustrating!

Just saw the women's gymnastics final results too, very frustrating. I wish these news sites would give you the option to view the final standings instead of just posting it larger than life at the top of there news page.

Tonight, prime example of olympic coverage fail....Why is NBC showing highlights of the 1996 gymnastics team competition? There was plenty of events going on today that they could be showing instead of things that happened over a decade ago...

Zzzzzzz....Zzzzzzz......
