I fish a 17 acre private lake in Overland, MO. Biggest bass I've caught was 10lbs 2oz. I'll take you out there next spring if you want considering most of my friends aren't serious into fishing or hunting.

If it's the lake I'm thinking (there's only one that size in Overland) I wouldn't have guessed there were bass that big in there...Too bad it's private, but then again, most private lakes have bigger fish in them since they aren't pressured...

Yea there isn't many big lakes in Overland. I put a depth finder on the boat for giggles and it registered as deep as 65' deep. There are 7 springs in the lake (I do believe most are dried up) but still pretty neat. And it ends up according to wikipedia it's only 12 acres. During the spring we see a 5+ pounder every week if we fish it a lot.

More than welcome to come out also!

I did read the Wiki for that lake and I knew it had been around for a while. Didn't know it was built back in 1894...

The wiki was an interesting read, didn't know that Overland had been around that long or the lake was the head water for River des Peres

Yea I know some of the olympic trials were held in that lake and when the worlds fair was here you could get cannoe rides around the lake. It's a pretty neat lake except for the old guy who lives on a corner. He'll call the cops on anyone he doesn't know and get trespassing charges on them. Did it to my friend who had permission and just forgot his flag.

I have pretty decent luck at the pond at the little park next to the Des Peres city hall, at Manchester and Ballas. At times it has been an excelent place for bass. Its c&r only

Fished there a lot in grade school. Would catch a lot of small bluegill and catfish. Would catch a decent 5+ pound cat every couple trips. Even caught a big a#$ turtle.

Bea Tree Park in Oakville use to have a lot of bass and some big ones. VERY tough in summer, but you can definitely catch them in the Spring. Haven't been there in 5 years, but it'd be worth a visit.

Westside Park in Fenton has a small lake, but I caught bass there on both occasions I visited 5-6 years ago.

That's all I got
