Was pondering driving up to fish my spot at the 8mm this weekend. Have'nt been up since the heat wave of 2012 ended. Have been hearing conflicting reports on the crappie bite so am trying to get a good idea how things are going up there.Any info greatly appreciated and good fishing to all and be safe out there!

Some good sized ones have been following the shad to the surface in the evenings. Following the schools of 2"shad and suspending a jig 3-4ft. under a bobber might work, but tossing small jigging spoons into the schools is a quicker way to get a few decent ones before it gets dark.

Seems to only last about 45 minutes, but might last longer on a calm cloudy day if we were to get one.

Other than that, there are tons of dinks in the deep brushpiles and along bluffs like always.

That's all I got..... Good luck if ya go.

A thousand thanks for the reply. I had been told the late evening into overnight bite had been pretty good but have not heard much as far as the early morning hours. have you got any input or info on the morning situation or is it basically the same all the way through the day. Again thanks for the quick response. I will be fishing a big set of docks that are bedded well in the wee hours of the morning so any a.m. info I can get will be greatly appreciated.

I talked to a guy last saturday right in your neck of the woods who said he had twenty five during the day. He was on a big commercial dock that sat in about 10 feet of water. In the back of a creek.
