Jbrant Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 Fished about 12 hours this weekend - mostly early morning. Fished Proctor Creek, Pearson Bay, Bollinger Creek and a few small creeks close to those. Fished the back ends of creeks, fished secondary points, fished channel banks, fished flats in the creeks, and fished main lake points. Fished shallow, fished deep, and tried to fish for suspended fish. Fished around docks, under docks, fished some brush, and fished on empty banks. We caught about 25 bass. One keeper (3.25) and the rest were all about 12". Caught some on square bills, some on a 3 arm a-rig, and some on t-rigs. Maybe our mistake was moving around too much and trying to many different things - we eventually caught a small fish just about everywhere we tried - but couldn't find any quality. Anybody have any better luck???
Jerry Rapp Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 the Wed night tourneys have been tough for over a month. Don't feel bad, they are just off their feed.
fishinwrench Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 We hit it hard today in the Gravois and only had one solid fish, and darn few shorts considering how much area was covered. Thought about launching out of Mallard bay this morning but glad I didn't now, since it sounds like the funk is lakewide. Noticed lots (tons) of grasshoppers today. Time to put the pitchin' gear away for a bit and hit the creeks with the flyrod and foam bugs.
Members Jim Fish the Zarks Posted September 4, 2012 Members Posted September 4, 2012 I also struggled a bit. I had one keeper, the rest were dinks!
