It won't be much longer until it is cool enough to hit BSC and Mill. Does anyone know how they made it through the drought this summer.

Flyfinger, did you guys get much rain your way?

Mike,

I waded up BSC from the HWY N bridge to the water treatment basin last weekend and it looked good to me and I did buy a 4wt rod and reel.....let me know when your going.

don't laugh....because I know I'm a rank dork when it comes to flyfishing......I caught one trout about 6 inches long on a very tiny midge that was a biege color....tom hargrove tied up some for me. The fly itself was so small, I had no idea the fish had even taken the fly I simply pulled up on the rod and he was on. I did scare two much bigger trout from an under cut bank by a root wad....they would have gone every bit of 12 to 13 inches.

The new rod and reel is cool, I took it over to the Meramec and caught three nice sunfish.....it really is much easier to cast small fly with a rod less than a 6wt....lol

Recent report says that Mill is dry above the ford above Bohigian. I'd wait for some more rain before you go chase the little guys.

WARNING!! Comments to be interpreted at own risk.

Time spent fishing is never wasted.

It usually dries up above that Ford...most of the flow comes in downstream about a hundred yards. I'd still wait till it cools down.

Six inch long trout there is equals a 12 to 14 inch trout in a park. That is a good one. Did he have any color on him?

I plan on waiting until the night temps are in the 60s for a week or more.

Mic...BSC is doing fine. Some structural changes...but all is good. We got a fair amount of rain...2-3 inches. I would say it will be prime-time by the end of September.
