Geoff Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 I hope I can atleast get to Mill this year, still never been. I had good luck at BSC in Jan or Feb this year finally, i'll go back, i might fish it during deer season since I hunt across the road from it. Members lirch Posted September 19, 2012 Members Posted September 19, 2012 Hit the north N parking lot on Sunday around 6pm, and headed upstream. Saw multiple large fish this trip, and they seemed less skiddish. I also believe I saw 2 otters just below the N bridge. They almost swam right by me. I made the trip down to the parking lot before the Ranch for the first time as well. It was about 7:15pm by the time I made it down there. I saw a few big trout in the pool just down stream of the bridge. I need to go back to this spot to fish next time.
Smalliebigs Posted September 19, 2012 Posted September 19, 2012 If there are Otters in that killer little creek it's doomed........what a bummer. I wonder when the season is on Otters???
Flyflinger Posted September 19, 2012 Posted September 19, 2012 Smallie..I see otters just about every time I go to bsc. I do hope you are wrong about them dooming the creek...are they really that bad? There is no limit to what a man can do or how far he can go if he doesn't mind who gets the credit
Geoff Posted September 20, 2012 Posted September 20, 2012 They can be. Are you sure they are otters and not muskrats? I have never seen an otter down that way and I would imagin that creek being way to small to support and otter population. muskrat and beaver yes. i see lots of them. Flysmallie Posted September 20, 2012 Posted September 20, 2012 There have been otters in Crane creek for years and it seems to be doing fine. Â Â

I have never seen an otter down that way and I would imagin that creek being way to small to support and otter population. muskrat and beaver yes. i see lots of them. I only got a quick look at them. The first thing I saw were two long bodies sliding down a riffel just upstream of me. One stopped right in front of me, popped his head up out of the water, then was out of there quick. What parking lot do you guys have the most luck at BSC?

Usually two of them, one large and the other small. I see them all the time. There is no limit to what a man can do or how far he can go if he doesn't mind who gets the credit
Members lirch Posted October 11, 2012 Members Posted October 11, 2012 Drove to the first parking lot on N on Sunday, got there at 5pm. Started working up stream, moving quickly through the first half. Caught 2 nice looking rainbow, and one small mouth about the same size. The Trout were both out of the same hole. Battled another one in close to the net, but he broke off before I could grab him. Darkness moved in alot quicker than I thought. I was up to the N bridge by 7:15, and walked the road back. This was my 6th trip to BSC since August, and I am glad I finally got some legit trout.
mic Posted October 11, 2012 Author Posted October 11, 2012 Sweetness. Thanks for sharing. I've never caught a smallmouth there.
