jdmidwest Posted September 10, 2012 Author Posted September 10, 2012 http://www.google.co...c.1.a8pi6-lnpCk I read this a little differently You buy it, the government is its sole user, so in effect, they own it. They tell you where to put it and only they can stuff things in it. If you don't have one, they won't come..... http://wiki.answers.com/Q/Does_the_US_Postal_Service_own_your_mailbox "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S. jdmidwest Posted September 28, 2012 Author Posted September 28, 2012 Looks like they win again. They get to crap up my personal property whether I want it or not. Good reason to stay out of town this weekend spending money. http://www.semissourian.com/story/1898625.html "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S. Flysmallie Posted September 28, 2012 Posted September 28, 2012 Such is a byproduct of freedom. Anything less would be communism. BS. Freedom does not give you the right to trash up my personal property. And the KKK can kiss my butt while they are at it.
jdmidwest Posted September 28, 2012 Author Posted September 28, 2012 I am wondering where the freedom to invade personal property comes in? It is one thing to post in public places. If they were to come onto my property, it would be trespass. Same goes with my personal property, ie boat, camper, vehicle when I am out and about. Chief Grey Bear Posted September 28, 2012 Posted September 28, 2012 I guess when you are parked on public property or the property of an owner who has granted permission. At that point your only other choice is to not park there. Or simply do as I do and toss it in the recycle bin and go on with my life and leave others to live their's. exiledguide Posted September 28, 2012 Posted September 28, 2012 Such is a byproduct of freedom. Anything less would be communism. I have to disagree, chief. Try to exercise your freedom of speech in that same judges courtroom and see how much freedom you have. I can't believe I'm agreeing with jdmidwest but he is right.

But they haven't been granted permission. There was a city ordinance against this. But the KKK and the worse group the ACLU found them a fight. I bet if little Suzy would have been handing out flyers about her lemonade stand we would be prosecuting her. But the city government was forced into allowing it because they didn't have the money to fight this ignorance. It's not that the KKK and ACLU are the scum of the earth, it's that they make an issue out of it in the first place. They know these towns do not have the money or will not fight them. So these jackasses get their way. That's what you call freedom?
Chief Grey Bear Posted September 28, 2012 Posted September 28, 2012 I bet if little Suzy would have been handing out flyers about her lemonade stand we would be prosecuting her. No we wouldn't. Nobody would have said a word. And you and JD wouldn't have either. Not a peep out of me either. But the city government was forced into allowing it because they didn't have the money to fight this ignorance. So these jackasses get their way. That's what you call freedom? I think he said it was an uphill battle and probably not winable. No sense in wasting money. I could care less if the kkk ceased to exist at this moment. My only point is we have to afford the same freedoms to all individuals and groups whether we agree with them or their message. Its the same with flyfishermen. They should be outlawed! They do nothing but hog all the good holes. Play fish to near death to make sure everyone sees them. Have funny names for equipment just to be different. Like bobbers or all of this 6X and 7X crap. Dress in the nuttiest outfits that make them feel like they are....like they are...hell I don't know waht they think. Flysmallie Posted September 28, 2012 Posted September 28, 2012 You need to go back to the article and read it with your head out of your butt. There was already an ordinance from letting anyone put fliers on vehicles. But since they are the KKK the ACLU decided it would sue the city so the KKK could get permission. If we have to afford them the same freedoms then why in the hell don't they have to follow the same laws. It doesn't matter if the city feels as if it's a battle that they cannot win, it's bullshit that they have to fight it in the first place. Most towns do not have the money to fight frivolous lawsuits and that's all this is. But we were afraid to fight and a judge was too afraid to do the right thing, so the KKK gets to place fliers on vehicles and then after they are done it's still illegal for anyone else to do it. And YOU call that freedom?
