This is the time of year I use a lot of spinnerbaits and crankbaits.

They should start coming out of the depths soon and up onto the banks and creek arms to feed before settling down for the winter. Shallow divers and spinner baits shallow did the trick for me last October when I caught several 4lb fish on a local lake.
