Members reddog Posted October 18, 2012 Members Posted October 18, 2012 Went fishing this morning started about 7am just as it was light enough to see what you were doing, was back in my truck at 8:53 with a limit of some very good size white bass. Had my line broke 4 times that has never happened to me before guess my son was right about that rotten line, I'll have to get some new spooled on before I go next time. I almost always use 6lb test. Good fishing to all reddog
Bassmaster21 Posted October 19, 2012 Posted October 19, 2012 What do you use for white bass? A lot of times me and my dad just drift with minnows. Im not really sure what kind of lures to use for whites. Do you use stuff more like crappie lures or like bass lures?
Bassmaster21 Posted October 19, 2012 Posted October 19, 2012 Cool. I have tons of those from trout fishing at different places
fishinwrench Posted October 19, 2012 Posted October 19, 2012 You'll want a bigger (1/6oz.) RT for Whites. The little trout sized ones aren't the norm. A 1/8oz. 2 1/2 - 3" Sassy shad or Brewer slider grub is about as close to WB crack as you can get. Something about that paddle tail design.....
Jerry Rapp Posted October 19, 2012 Posted October 19, 2012 a 1/16th or 1/8th road runner is a good choice also. I also suggest with a rooster tail, unless you want to be playing with pliars all day removing hooks, to cut two of the hooks off the treble. You might lose a fish or two, but in the end you will make a lot more casts and not wasting time trying to dig out trebles from their little mouths.
podum Posted October 23, 2012 Posted October 23, 2012 wrench and rapp nailed it. the paddle tail is weird good. 2 inch tubes work great on a road runner head. I wish I had more time more than I wish I had more money.
