mic Posted November 1, 2012 Posted November 1, 2012 Still searching for the wade able creek. Anyone ever fished between the lower reservoir and the shut ins...or.. the reservoir for that matter. It looks like public land that one would have to "work at" and would keep it wild.

Not many people are as dumb as me to wade that. Mike it's very dagerous in there and you stay away....lots of slick rocks and cougars

exiledguide Posted November 1, 2012 Posted November 1, 2012 mic I fished it from the road above the shut ins to Tom Sauk in the 70's and 80's along with Marble creek and the St Francis below Silver Mines (hard to wade) but I prefered Castor River below Marquand Mo. I also fished the Big River around the state park. I stopped fishing there when I bought a piece of land on the Big Piney below Brushy Creek outside of Houston sold that when I moved to Arkansas. Back then (before otters) Piney was much better smallmouth and goggle eye fishing but I have not fished any of those since the mid 90s. East fork is worth it just for the red granite structure of the base but Smalliebigs is right that may be the slickest wadeing stream I have ever fished. I didn't see any cougars back in the 80s but I did survive a gang of nekked hippie chicks back in 84 and it actualy was rather enjoyable. The more I think about it, after growing older, they may have moved to Christian county and become the Cougars who hang out at Shelvin Rock who I described in a previous post how I barely escaped from with my ............
