BilletHead Posted November 8, 2012 Posted November 8, 2012 Well after a long wait it has made it back from the taxidermist. Left Colorado Tuesday and here this afternoon. Beautiful mount. My first mounted duck and it was a can to boot. Fins and Feathers suggested I go with Todd Huffman, good call and thanks Scott for place to sent it to. Took the bird on the last day of the South zone last season. This has me fired up for the opener on Thanksgiving morning south zone opener. So far I have some gadwall hanging around and hope they will stay for a while. Grey ducks eat just fine, Seared just so. Nice and rare. Bird Watcher Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 That's a great mount Marty. He did a nice job.
Quillback Posted November 12, 2012 Posted November 12, 2012 That is a nice mount, ever get any woodies? I would think that would be a nice one to have on the wall also.
Feathers and Fins Posted November 12, 2012 Posted November 12, 2012 Looks great, he does awesome work, Now you have 1 down and many to go lol. It becomes and addiction to take the perfect bird for the wall but when you get them back it is like Christmas. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
BilletHead Posted November 12, 2012 Author Posted November 12, 2012 Thanks guys, Quillback I have shot a bunch of wood ducks in the past but until I got the canvasback I really had no desire to get a bird mount. Scott it was kind of like Christmas morning. Digging in all those packing peanuts trying to find my bird in that big old box. vonreed Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 Awesome mount, and what a beautiful duck to get mounted. I got my first mounted duck ever last year and it's a woodduck. Also I seen your arrowhead poster and like it to, lol. Do you point hunt?
BilletHead Posted November 13, 2012 Author Posted November 13, 2012 Yes I do point hunt some. Not as much as I used to. Cannot get too many hobbies!
