Brian K. Shaffer Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 Another mountain lion... this one in Branson. http://mdc.mo.gov/newsroom/mdc-confirms-photo-mountain-lion-taney-county Pretty close for comfort in my opinion. Just once I wish a trout would wink at me! ozarkflyfisher@gmail.com I'm the guy wearing the same Simms longbilled hat for 10 years now.

Justin Spencer Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 Did you see the date on it? Something is fishy, body looks too small for the tail. I think it is a bobcat dressed up as a puma. Greasy B Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 Did you see the date on it? Something is fishy, body looks too small for the tail. I think it is a bobcat dressed up as a puma. The tail was probably pinned on by the same guy who takes his painted woodpecker to Arkansas. His father touches the Claw in spite of Kevin's warnings and breaks two legs just as a thunderstorm tears the house apart. Kevin runs away with the Claw. He becomes captain of the Greasy Bastard, a small ship carrying rubber goods between England and Burma. Michael Palin, Terry Jones, 1974

Al Agnew Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 I've studied enough mountain lions while researching how to paint them, that I think I'd recognize a fake unless it was very, very good. All the proportions on that photograph, including things like the proportions of the lower hind leg compared to the upper part, the proportions of the hind leg compared to the front legs and the body length, all convince me it's definitely a mountain lion. But dang it, Greasy, I told you to keep my repainted pileated woodpecker mount secret!
Justin Spencer Posted November 14, 2012 Posted November 14, 2012 Just thought since it was Halloween maybe it was a costume, albiet a good one! Brian K. Shaffer Posted November 14, 2012 Author Posted November 14, 2012 I just want to know where.....where was this shot captured ? The big Johnny Morris property keeps ringing the bell. (i.e. Dogwood Canyons 10k+ acres) Just once I wish a trout would wink at me! ozarkflyfisher@gmail.com I'm the guy wearing the same Simms longbilled hat for 10 years now.
