Mitch f Posted November 20, 2012 Posted November 20, 2012 Let me make sure I am following along here. You speak of politics and fishing in a thread about a neighbors pet pig getting all Hatfield, and then you bust my chops about getting off topic all in one post?? My sincerest apologies! jdmidwest Posted November 20, 2012 Author Posted November 20, 2012 Just giving you a heads up. From what you have posted over the years, if you ever get taken to court, you are screwed. Have you found anything illegal in any of my postings that I really should be concerned about? "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S. Chief Grey Bear Posted November 20, 2012 Posted November 20, 2012 My sincerest apologies! You actually have a valid point that has been brought up a number of times over the years. Al Agnew Posted November 21, 2012 Posted November 21, 2012 I wonder if you shoot the pig, do you have to give the bacon to its owner? I've heard the old Churchill quote about a thousand times. Well, I probably qualify as old, and on many issues I fall into the liberal camp (and on some, the conservative camp). In my opinion, if you're old enough to have seen a lot of the world, you don't have any brains if you follow either philosophy right down the line. Neither side is right all the time, and most issues are a lot more complex than either side wants you to believe.

patfish Posted November 21, 2012 Posted November 21, 2012 I wonder if you shoot the pig, do you have to give the bacon to its owner? Is it a pig or a feral hog? Is it wild or native? What if it's a smallmouth pig? What if it's a smallmouth hog? What if it's a Neosho strain hog? What if it's a McCloud strain pig? Catch and release or kill and eat? What size tippet should you use? JD got what he was after.... internet attention.
jdmidwest Posted November 21, 2012 Author Posted November 21, 2012 I just thought I would bring a few laughs out about feral pigs. I filed a complaint against the owner, since it was the second time it damaged my personal property. Deputy was worried about my bee hive as I am too. Seems like most people seem to enjoy fresh honey. Just one of my pet peeves, people owning livestock and pets and not taking care of them properly. If I would have to shoot the pig and kill it, I would have to surrender the pig to the authorities. I am sure the owner will give it a proper burial. Do people actually eat potbelly pig? Most of the pigs we raised were fed out and eaten in about a years time. Anything after that usually ended up as sausage, too tough and strong flavored. I assume that goes with the potbelly and other feral species. Gavin, do you have a good recipe for potbelly pig, just in case? People would get tired of them and pretty much give them to him. But I have to admit he ate about anything.
