Wiggle Wart Color?

hey yall,

just wondering, with all the different colors of wiggle warts there are, is there a praticular few colors that seem to catch more fish in the aunts creek area/ baxter area,.do they have color numbers.?

and what size line seems to work best .

Try color #37,45,59,.62,63,86, 209 and 210. I like 210 in really cold water.

Great info on colors. Line size will vary. One of the best wart fisherman in Missouri is Scott Pauley with the dvision of Tourism, You will see his truck all over the area.

In cold water I have seen Scott fish a wart more than a few times of 6 pound test. He says he can get another 3' of depth with it in clear cold water. Most guys usually throw it on 8 to 12. yesterday with TR at close to 60 degrees and the fish with their backs out of the water, most were throwing their shallow cranks on 12#, including Scott and Bill Beck.

If the Small Jaws are up there you better have a firm grip on the deal in 60 degree water, or they will just flat take your junk away from you. Guys yesterday at the derby were saying how hot the fish were with lots jumping or tearing off the crankbaits. That water drops another 10 degree and you can lighten up abit, but right now I would keep the 12 pound on the old coffee grinder.

well i thank you for the color #,s. this gives me a good selection.

i generally use 10#-12# line for cranks. thanks guy,s for the info. now all we need is some fish to cooperate. ok that,s another story.

I use 10# Fluoro with my warts. V209 might be my favorite but also like V37 and V40. Something about orange seems to work better for me. Lots of guys like the v38 and v210 but I have never had much luck on either of those colors.

phantom green or brown is good too

Tuning those little suckers can be a real task.

Love all the crawdad colors and have way too many. Have also had good success on silver sided/black back and even straight chartreuse. The old suspending warts seem to have the best erratic action of all of them and that may be as big of a factor as color.

For whatever reason I have been using a hand painted one I did and have been catching anything from small mouths, K'S, Crappie on them.
