huntest Posted December 10, 2012 Posted December 10, 2012 The sonar function on my old Lowrance LMS 310 that I use at the console is only showing vertical lines. The GPS function is working just fine. The old Lowrance X135 sonar on the bow works okay. I would like your input on the following: Is the LMS 320 worth a technician looking at? By who? Should I get a new sonar/gps unit for the console? Which ones do you guys like? If I get a new unit for the console should I plan for a new unit for the bow? Any recommendations who to buy from and use for installation? I am confused and can use advise! THANKS!
fishinwrench Posted December 10, 2012 Posted December 10, 2012 Go onto the menu function and select "simulator". If the lines are still there then the head unit is toast. You could try to send it in, and call and whine alot.....but I doubt they'll feel sorry for you unless the unit is really fresh.
Dutch Posted December 10, 2012 Posted December 10, 2012 That unit is no longer supported by them and there is no one that I know of who can work on sonar units any longer. The sky is the limit on what to get. You can spend from a few hundred to several thousand on units. If you want to talk to a knowledgeable person in your area, see a guy at BPS in Branson. I'm pretty sure his name is Troy if not then Trevor. He knows his depth finder units very well.
gitnby Posted December 10, 2012 Posted December 10, 2012 Have you checked your transducer? Mine (not the same model) did the same thing, and when I checked the transducer, I found it had broken loose from the hull. Re-glued it and it works fine.
