The kid was probably thinking, "What the heck just happened to me?"

There have always been old wives' tales about eagles snatching babies, but this is the first time I've ever seen it documented. Looked like the toddler was just slightly too heavy for the eagle to carry off easily, or this could have really been tragic.

But the most surprising and puzzling thing is that the eagle attacked in a place surrounded by a lot of adult humans. Golden eagles are usually pretty wary of humans. Gotta wonder if this was a bird that had been either trained by a falconer or otherwise used to people.
