Sorry I haven't posted in a while. We buried my 94 year old mother about 2 weeks ago. When you go home for Christmas be sure to pull your parents to the side and thank them for all they did to raise you. Teach you right from wrong and how to show respect to others and so much more. I always told my mother how much she ment to me and how much I appreciated all she had done for me. Now that brings me great comfort that she new how I felt. Merry Christmas to all and Happy New Year. Be careful if you are driving.

Now the important struff. FISHING!!! lol Hit the lake today and I really couldn't buy a bite from a crappie. We only had three keepers (all my wifes) by 2:30 or so. A bite started up shortly after that and we wound up with a total of 9 (Yes, once again all were caught by my wife) YEESSSHH!! I managed to catch 3 walleye, one white and about a dozen largemouth.ALL SHORT!! All were from 28 to 34 feet in 30 to 40 feet of water.

Now just before this bite started my wife and I heard a loud banging noise up by our truck. We both went running up the bank to see a guy in an old white pick-up trying to break into the back of the truck. As I was approaching my toe got stuck under a root and I fall like a bag of wet potatoes!! I then hit the ground with my left side of my face plowing up a foot of dirt and rocks!!! That man thought that if I was tough enough to plow ozark dirt with my face I was too tough for him!! (lol What a crock!!) He jumped in his pick up and took off. Even at my age I strick fear into evildoers!! lol The left side of my face now looks like I took a left hook from George Foremen!! The preacher is gonna be wondering about that bruise tomorrow!

If I had seen you coming at me after a header in to those rock and with a bloody face --

My shoes would still be there and I would be WAY up the hill !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry to hear you were harassed while fishing, the #&*@$#&d's......

Very glad to hear you only got a few bumps.... I have a hickory "shillelagh" that I carry mushrooning and bank fishing...

I can verify it looks nasty enough to make others give me my space......

Well sorry about the mishaps hat but congrats to your wife on her catch. Maybe the fall bite really is gone and the fish are out among the shad.

I may know more tomorrow if all goes well.

Sorry to hear about your Mom.

I'm glad you caught some fish...excuse me your wife :have-a-nice-day:

Were you at the CC area? I always worry about that, this time of year you can be the only at the ramp or in the area.

You know Zarra, I like the your idea of carrying a "persuader". And the way I run I could stand to use a cane! lol I will probably get me a hickory staff and until then I might carry a can of pepper spray.

Minnowhooker; No I wasn't at CC, we fished the Ruark Bluff area. I know what you mean about CC though. I have seen and heard a lot of problems there. Meat a guy yesterday that had had his vehicle broken into at that location.

I forgot to mention in my post that the water temperature was 47!! I am sure it will be a lot colder next weekend after this weather hits.

Get you a side arm then you won't have to run.

I went today. I fished in the Big Sac arm and found the bite to really be off. I believe Bob was right about the fall bite being about done. I struggled to get 10 keepers and 4 shorts along with some bass and small eyes. Mine were 29-35 close to the bottom. But it was a beautiful day to be alive and on the water.

Sorry to hear of the loss of your mother straw. Sounds as though you and I are fortunate enough to have great parents. A day on the lake always seems to help put things into perspective for me, hope it was therapeutic for you as well. Please report your attempted break in to the local sheriff's office. They will probably know who the guy is that was driving that truck, and the information may be the break they need in similar incidents. Dirt bags like that need to be locked up.

Yes sorry to hear about your mother.

Thanks for the warning about the dirtbag, probably a good idea to report it to local LE. I've been thinking about fishing Stockton next year and these break-ins worry me. The perp will probably continue to prowl the ramps until he's caught. Were you able to tell what model truck he had?

Thanks for all the sympathies concerning my mother. She was a sweetie, no doubt. I couldn't get tthe make and model the way he was parked. It was a white small pickup like a ford ranger. It had been spot painted MANY times. lol I wish I could have got close enough to introduce myself! Or even close enough to see the lisence plate number.
