ness Posted December 25, 2012 Posted December 25, 2012 Ness, you need to get a better browser and install an Ad Blocker. I don't see any adds. But my message bar in Firefox in the lower left shows that Google Analytics is watching our every move. I'm just seeing banners at the top and bottom. I'm ok with that. John

Al Agnew Posted December 26, 2012 Posted December 26, 2012 Very nice work, Jd and Eric! Jd, one question that struck me. Cedar is used in cedar chests because it's a moth repellent. Could it be a bee repellent as well? I've made a few rough pieces of furniture, not polished work because I have neither the time, the tools, or probably the skills. But I am somewhat proud of some of the stuff I've made from deadfall cedar. I'll see if I can get pictures of it posted tomorrow, but I made a headboard for our bed out of gnarled and twisted cedar limbs, and two end tables for our living room. The end tables are the twisted cedar limbs for bases, and tabletops are square, rough-edged, polished surface limestone from a quarry a few miles from the house. I used stone veneer from the same quarry on our big living room fireplace.

Could it be a bee repellent as well? I was thinking the same thing. I don't ever recall seeing any bee trees or even a hornets nest in them. * Just looked it up. Seems those in the bee keeping community says it is ok. jdmidwest Posted December 26, 2012 Author Posted December 26, 2012 There is a pesky wax moth that I hope it repels. And it is very rot resistant. "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S. Thompson
