Mitch f Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 Nice!!! get out the fillet knife, That pic makes me hungry! I need fried fish right now...and it's not even 6 in the morning. I'm having trouble telling if that's a lure or a bobber in the first picture? What were you using for bait/lure? "Honor is a man's gift to himself" Rob Roy McGregor

Ham Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 Good for you GM. I don't eat Redfish, but that's cool if you do. So glad they didn't allow them to be commercially harvested to extinction. Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
gotmuddy Posted December 31, 2012 Author Posted December 31, 2012 have you ever ate redfish? it is awesome grilled. everything in this post is purely opinion and is said to annoy you.
Ham Posted December 31, 2012 Posted December 31, 2012 I'm from Louisiana. My Dad's brother had an Oilfield Maintainence Company in Venice, La. We were fishing Venice Before it was cool. I can honesty say we were using bass gear for Redfish when 90% of ppl fishing for them were having really heavy gear and shrimp or other bait (maybe most still are). Yep, I've had it grilled, but I'd rather have a grilled Largemouth bass or Walleye. If I'm gonna grill an inshore fish, I want a flounder. Redfish are kinda dopey and aren't usually too hard to fool IF you find a few. They are a really fun fish to catch and I'd much rather release them to fight again. gotmuddy Posted January 1, 2013 Author Posted January 1, 2013 we just got done eating some grilled fish. I use bass tackle and less. the most fun was using a johnny morris spinning reel on a 6.5ft denali finesse rod. everything in this post is purely opinion and is said to annoy you.
