Ever Wonder What It Looks Like At 81 Feet In The Spring?

Here is a video a friend of mine took on Dec 27th. I thought it was interesting. I always wondered what it looked like down there.

I guess it narrows to much to go past 81 feet.

I believe they have been much farther then that, but I can't remember the distance. The spring runs back under the stream, that I remember.

Isn't there a map of the aquifer in the nature center?

Wonder what depth they were at at around 4 to 5 minutes into the video when there appeared to be a very large number of fish swimming around.

You can forget about that...the water pressure is to high to get a fly down there.

Just take along a fishing rod on your next dive. i am sure they would be totally cool with that:)

Yeah and that big ol'albino flathead. That wasn't a cave you saw at about 48ft. That was his mouth!

He came up during a flood and has been sitting down there getting fat on yummy rainbows for 60+ years.

I remember years ago watching a guy fishing the spring and then talking to him. He said he used a three way swivel with a one ounce sinker attached to the end and a jig or fly attached to a foot or two longer leader coming off the side. This would allow him to get it fairly deep into the spring. It was sort of drop shot rigging.

Looked like quite a few fish down there. I'll have to ask him how far you can actually dive down there. I assumed that was about it in the video...maybe not.
