Had a good day on Beaver today. Fished from 9 to 3 and had 9 good LM in the 3-4lb range, a couple in the 2lb range, a 2.5lb SM and a keeper K. First fish of the day and new year for me was a double, a 2lber and a 4lber. Caught everything on a wart 5-7' deep on chunk rock main lake points in the Clifty area. Points were the key, fished some water in between and never got a hit. So, just skipped from point to point picking up a fish on about every other point. Had to cover alot of water. I believe I could have caught them anywhere at that end off the lake from Rocky Branch to the Dam. Also saw a lot of striper boats trolling in the mouth of Big Clifty. I've heard good reports of stripers from there in the last couple weeks. I took a few pics, but I was by myself so sorry for the poor quality. Its hard to do much by yourself.

Thanks for the report! That's a great day on the Beav, I'm surprised to hear the WW is getting them good in this cold water, but that shows what I know.

Great way to start off the new year! Thanks for the report.

I was out on Thursday from about 9-1, in the PC to Ventris area. Did okay with 6 fish, but the only good one was a big old spot. Never tried the WW, but caught them on spoons, jerkbaits and drop shot. Fished large cranks, Keitechs, A-rig and jigs, but no luck with those. Water temp was in the 42-44 range. Like you, I found most of my fish on the points.

42-44 degrees is getting on down there. Mine held steady at 47 all day. Shad generally start dying at 45. Did you see any doing the death twitch? That'll really help turn that jerkbait bite on bigtime.

We have highs in the 50's this week and looks like possibly some good rain totals coming. If we do get it I suggest looking to runoff areas the shad will gather in them to feed and the fish will be nearby. I talked to my buddy who just got in with a healthy limit of walleye in 6fow most were 22'' he said i managed 12 of them before he had to leave. He asked me not to give exact location so i wont but he did say the fish all came off small gravel points and water temps at surface were 46.5 and warming as the day went on.

He caught some real nice bass and did check out the striper rumors in Clifty and verified they are there and so was a "ZOO" so he didnt stay long. Crappie he had some nice ones to 17'' in 23fow over flats with trolling flicker shad and rapalas his biggest was 18.5'' on a 1/4oz gold spoon and it was fat.
