Members derekburleson Posted January 10, 2013 Members Posted January 10, 2013 We launched at the Lost Bridge South COE ramp a couple of weeks ago and it was fine, got plans to launch out of there Friday, I'll let you know if there are problems but I anticipate it should be fine. It's about a 10 minute drive from the dam site launches so it's a good backup if those ramps are troublesome. We launched at Lost Bridge South Tuesday and it was fine.
wc1063 Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 I went by Monte Ne and Horseshoe Bend today to look at the boat ramps. It seems like the Monte Ne ramp is ok, the concrete does end a few feet in the water, but at least there's not a big drop where the concrete meets rocks. Did see a guy launched his boat without problem. The road going to Horsechoe Bend ramp is blocked off, so I guess that ramp is closed for now.

Members rhondafish Posted January 22, 2013 Members Posted January 22, 2013 This Past Weekend. Below Beaver Dam. Houseman Ramp does not look doable. The Bertrand Ramp is good for a flatbottom. Saw a boat that had put in there and gone all the way up above Parker Bottoms. Both ramps at BeaverPark are usable. The gravel one seems to have a gravel hump off the end of it, so be careful there. The other ramp, the concrete ramp is steep, but with a 4WD should notbe an issue. Watcheda guy put a 22 foot pontoon in there. No trouble at all. Will reportmore as we check them out
J-Doc Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 I was out breaking in the newly rebuilt outboard and I tell you......I've never seen so many dangerous spots before on Beaver. It was a mine field covered by water. Even places I thought where i was in the main channel would shoot up to 10ft or less and then drop back to 60ft again. EVERYONE be extra carefull out there. You may think you know the lake well..........but in reallity it's a new lake right now unless you have fished it heavily all of your life. Need marine repair? Send our own forum friend "fishinwrench" a message. He will treat you like family!!! I owe fishinwrench a lot of thanks. He has been a great mechanic with lots of patience!
Feathers and Fins Posted January 22, 2013 Author Posted January 22, 2013 Just wait till summer J-doc, if we dont get rain there will be many wrecks and possibly an impalement or two. Lakes getting sporty for certain. But dang if i havent found some great walley spots and learned alot about what to look for for them from now on. Checking my shallow water spots now that the lakes below them has shown me well taught me alot. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
Guest Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 I hope that fewer boat ramps results in fewer boaters. I love running up the white river with all the mud flats and stump fields. There's nothing like going wide open in a channel thats only 30ft wide! If you don't know the channel, its best to stay off beaver. Those boaters cutting corners will end up beached. Can't wait for the walleye to start staging up the white.

Ron Burgundy Posted January 23, 2013 Posted January 23, 2013 He's talking about beaver lake. Gone but not forgotten Martin Ford
Guest Posted January 23, 2013 Posted January 23, 2013 Im talking about thew upper end of beaver. Places like Neils bluff, Blue Springs, etc. I wouldnt recommend getting "wide open" btw. I was joking about that.
