Quillback
Fished with Jeb in his boat today, had to go fishing on a warm day like today! We started off fairly well, I picked up a couple of 1 lb. bass on a spinnerbait, and then Jeb started catching fish on the Wiggle Wart, he caught a 3.75 lb. LM, a 3.25 smallie -pic below, and check out the tail on that smallie - and then he picked up a 2 lb. spot. Windy points with a gradual slope were the best spots. We ended up with only 5 bass, but good quality. We got our fish from about 0800 to 1100, and then they flat out stopped, the wind was really blowing and that may have put them off. Water temp was around 45.

nwaoutdoorsman
Great fish JEB!!! Sounds like they're still biting at that end of the lake. I love that wart bite!!
jeb
That smallie was long and fat. I'm sure she was filling up with eggs. I am becoming more and more of a WW convert. I've fished them here and there, and have had some moderate success, but I'm trying to put my head down and really get to know how/where/when to fish them right now. They seem to produce a few less bites, but almost always quality fish. So a decent trade off so far. I was hoping the wind would help the WW bite, so we braved quite a bit of it and fished exposed and semi-exposed points even with the white caps. But it just did not work for us. Quillback
I forgot to add that the Lost Bridge South COE ramp is in good shape with plenty of ramp left in the water.
Sore Thumbs
Hey Quill, when the mid morning bite has been shutting off I have been finding fish around docks that are on bluff walls near or on channel swings. If there is cover close even better. Been catching them with a 1/2 oz jig with a hula grub trailer in green pump/purple/copper flake. Not catching big ones, but there are definitely some keepers mixed in. It has been a couple of weeks since i have fished, but this has been working for me since fall. Quillback
Thanks Thumbs for the tip, I haven't been fishing docks much lately, but probably should at least try the ones on Bluff ends or channel swings as you said.
Sore Thumbs
I do fish more in the mid lake area than i do by the dam. I would think same rule applies.
