jdmidwest Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 I read this in disbelief. It was the first I had ever heard about it. I had not seen it on any major news networks. Deforestation has led to the decline and possible extinction of a rather common species that has been around for thousands of years. 80 percent decline over the past few years. Al Agnew Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 Yes, but those lice are an indicator species. If they are disappearing, what other important species are going down the drain (or stuck to the wax in the wastebasket) with them????? We're ruining that whole bush ecosystem!!!
rps Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 As a middle school teacher who must deal with head lice on an all too regular basis, I wish the extinction worked from the top down.
vonreed Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 Thanks, now that was something I wasn't expecting, lol.I never liked looking at a big bush anyways. And for that reason I guess that's the reason I've never seen or known anybody(thankfully) that has seen one of these almost extinct critters.
BredMan Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 This type of 'deforestation' may be directly linked to global warming as well and not just attributed to the eradication of those little creatures. It will also be the demise of some profitable companies! http://www.nbc.com/saturday-night-live/video/hair-restoration/1251377/
