Can I run my bass boat 150hp with a prop at pike camp? Is it deep enough to run without hitting bottom? How is the spotted bass fishing in this section? Fished it in a canoe but now want to try it in a big boat.

The shoals are really thin now and you can run up on one real quick like. There was probably 3+' more water when you saw the ski boats, or the folks running them knee their way around and were happy being confined to one little stretch.

I'm not real familiar with that section but everywhere else I've been has some really shallow spots. The water is lower now than I've ever seen it before. If you don't have a jet boat I'd be very cautious of where you run on the Osage right now. The MariOsa isn't too bad. You can run a little ways up from the ramp and quite a ways down which opens up quite a bit of water. We've caught decent bass there in the past but haven't hit it too hard yet this winter.

I saw a lot of ski boats there in the past. Am I missing something?

Yes. Water. With your boat I wouldn't even consider running that part of the river unless the gauge at St. Thomas was reading above 4 feet.

Have you considered fishing below Bagnell? You could probably pull that off right now with a lake boat and word has it that the bite is pretty decent as well.

They are gonna cut some water loose Thursday and give it a flush. If I get all my work done Wed. AND it's not cold and raining on Thurs. I might try and hit it on the rise.

I've been hearing rumors of pike in that section of the tailwater. Is this true or is it just someone talking up a big fat lie?
