Greasy B Posted February 9, 2013 Posted February 9, 2013 Yeah -- I always unclick the seatbelt and crack a beer when I get beyond the five mile perimeter. A statistically safe thing to do. His father touches the Claw in spite of Kevin's warnings and breaks two legs just as a thunderstorm tears the house apart. Kevin runs away with the Claw. He becomes captain of the Greasy Bastard, a small ship carrying rubber goods between England and Burma. Michael Palin, Terry Jones, 1974
jdmidwest Posted February 10, 2013 Author Posted February 10, 2013 A statistically safe thing to do. I learned to drive with a beer in my hand and no seat belt. I have never wrecked. I found out early that a keg of beer in a tub fit perfectly in the back ot a 74 Gremlin and the hose would reach the front seat. You did need a copilot to pump it every once in a while. Trying to do that while driving was just too dangerous. If you learn to drive drunk and do it well, sober driving is a breeze..... jdmidwest Posted February 10, 2013 Author Posted February 10, 2013 The keg and the Gremlin was the survival gear back then. I think there was a 20 gauge and a box of shells in the back seat too. hoglaw Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 Something else to look at would be weigh (sp?) protein. I don't know what the shelf life on that stuff is, but I imagine vaccum sealed weigh isolate is probably good indefinitely. I love the stuff and it makes me drink water. 1oz = about 25g of pure, easily digestable protein. Doesn't get much better than that , and it's awesome for staving off general canoe fatigue.
