I have literally seen thousands while scuba diving at the rock, along with Kentucky, Largemouth and so on ..They are all very inquisitive down under.

Maybe we will give it a spin then. Although, I really don't know when I am going to pull it off before August. Seems like something going one every weekend till then.

Any flat gravel going out into the lake (points, flats...the old inside turns) from HWY13 to the dam should have brown fish. Wind helps. Bait helps. FB jigs, smoke grubs, and dragging a tube are hard to beat. Shallow in am, and move out towards 30' under the boat with the sun coming up. Maybe a little deeper later in the summer. They will get up surprisingly shallow and feed. Seems like there are always some brown fish on these kinds of places.

They may not jump like they do in skinny running water, but there are plenty of 16"-19" fish, with a real shot at 4#-5# fish, and feeling them pull for 30' of water is a thrill of its own.

You may be able to do smallies in TR proper as well as do a float/river smallie trip on the Kings or the James.

Danger! Warning!! If you are on the James beware of cougars.

I thought most of the cougars were at The Landing.

Most are but beware of gravel bars with chaise lounges and coolers nearby cougars will be lurking nearby.
