blue79 Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 Congrats...I tried to quit last week and lasted five hours before i went and bought a couple of packs..Would give anything to quit smoking.Ive been smoking now for 29 years and i know its killing me.
joeD Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 Good for you Leonard. I'm sure it was tough. I'm also sure it was(is) worth it. Healthwise and moneywise. Really. Do the arithmetic for 52 weeks of buying cigarettes. Amazing, isn't it? Now, that money is in your pocket. As a non-smoker, you reap other rewards too. Insurance. Taste buds. You smell better. And your clothes smell better. I know we don't know each other, but, I know habits and addiction. You have a right to be proud and announce it to this forum. Congratulations and good luck.
laker67 Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 You got something to be proud of Leonard. Good to hear from you.
GloryDaze Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 Way to go Leonard! I celebrated my 5 year on March 10 after 13 years of smoking. That first year is the hardest as it seems everything causes you to want a cigarette... just ate dinner, I need a smoke...... just had a beer, gotta have a smoke..... can't possibly drive without a cigarette..... tough call from boss, fix it with a smoke..... Its really nice when you can go a full day without having a cigarette on your mind. I bet after a year your already there, so Congrats! Follow me on Twitter @DazeGlory
cnr Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 Well done and welcome to a healthier lifestyle. One year, that's really great.
Jack Jones Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 Great job!!. Keep it up and in a few years you'll look back and wonder why you ever would do it in the first place. As time goes by it just becomes so foreign. And you feel much better. "Thanks to Mother Mercy, Thanks to Brother Wine, Another night is over and we're walking down the line" - David Mallett
Wayne SW/MO Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 I got you beat, 49 years puffing and 12 clean. Don't miss them a lick. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
Flysmallie Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 Congrats Leonard. You may feel better but I doubt you smell any better.
Mitch f Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 Way to go man! A buddy of mine quit and carried a pack in his front shirt pocket for pne year just to prove to himself how committed he was. "Honor is a man's gift to himself" Rob Roy McGregor
