Anyone know if the walmart in Rogers will be open on Easter Sunday? Or anywhere close that will be open to get a fishing license? I won't be in Arkansas till Sunday and wanted to hit the water. I looked at buying a license online but it says to allow sufficient mailing time. So evidently it isn't just a print out license like other states.

Normally Walmarts are only closed on Christmas.

If I recall, you can print the receipt which you can use until your license arrives.

Not that it matters, since there are plenty of people who will continue shopping at Walmart, but if Walmart went out of business tomorrow, those 2.1 million jobs would go to a huge number of other retail establishments that would have to take up the slack of selling the goods that people are demanding from Walmart.

Wonder when AR is going to get with the program and allow licenses to printed on line.

Was reading on another website that Maryland requires anybody buying a license to give out their social security number. I thought that you weren't supposed to be required to give out your SS# to anybody, due to concerns about identity theft. The guy who was complaining about it said that he didn't think it was a real good idea to give out your SS# to some minimum wage clerk at Walmart. Which makes me wonder which is more unsafe, to give out your number to the Walmart clerk, or to give it out for an on line license, where it goes who knows where in cyberspace.

I'll avoid the Walmart jabs, given that opinions are set, right or wrong. I do want to point out that I still have my original SS card and it clearly states "For Social Security purposes - not for identification". The fact that every Tom, Dick and harry wants to use it to identify you is clearly one reason that ID theft is easy. Congress could stop it, but they don't have time for the trivial stuff.

Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
