Yesterday We put in at Viola about 1:00 pm. Had a great day! Found some wind blown pea gravel points and banks and started throwing a spinner bait. We just slayed them. We caught about 50 total. They hit like a freight train and but up a good fight. Only caught a couple keepers but had a blast! Most fish were just shy of 15". They all looked fat and healthy. Some looked like footballs. It was a beautiful day to be out and catching them like that made it even better. Unfortunately I didn"t have a camera or would have some pics to post.

what sort of water temps were you seeing?

Ham, we were seeing 53 and 54 for water temps. We even had some down a bank all the way to the back of a cove that the wind was blowing down. They were hitting from 1 ft of water to about 8 or 9. I would say most were in the 6 to 8 ft range.

Quillback, we didn't catch them if there wasn't pea gravel. Chunk rock mixed in was good but just junk rock didn't work.

I knew the fish would turn on soon. Thursday we saw water temps from 44-50, but no real active fish. We caught fish, but small ones.

Good for you. I'm jealous.

HOPEFULLY, my day will come.
